Financial Analyst

Summary: Responsible for the Bank's cash management and budget functions and processes. Records, classifies, and summarizes financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Utilizes various systems, applications and astute financial analysis techniques to compile, analyze, interpret, forecast, and report actionable information that results in identifying trends and opportunities for financial and process performance enhancements. Based on detailed analytics, provides comprehensive reporting and practical recommendations with which to support business decisions and results. Facilitates the integration of financial information Bank-wide to support project/change management, new product development and marketing campaigns, and to drive forward process improvement initiatives.

  • Participates in liquidity management and performs/oversees cash management functions/forecasting, including but not limited to: monitors all correspondent bank balances, conducts funds transfers to maximize interest earning potential, makes short-term borrowing decisions as necessary to maintain adequate balances, and processes and records all related accounting transactions.
  • Processes all daily and monthly fixed income and equities securities investment transaction accounting entries, prepares accounting schedules, monitors the investment portfolios for policy compliance and receipt of anticipated interest and dividends; maintains subsidiary ledgers, and prepares monthly reconciliations.
  • Participates in the daily and month-end closing processes, including but not limited to: reviews and analyzes the balance sheet and income statement prior to closing, follows up on unresolved items as necessary and participates in the preparation and analysis of monthly interest rate yields.
  • Responsible for timely, relevant and accurate Management and Board reporting, including but not limited to: liquidity/cash flow projections, monthly and quarterly financial results and monthly/quarterly DIF reports.
  • Maintains budget model and participates in annual budget process, including but not limited to: compiles data for model input, validates data for accuracy, generates forecasts and analyzes results against corporate goals and metrics, and presents findings/recommendations to Senior Management.
  • Performs timely and accurate, general and special project ad hoc analysis, reporting and information management, including but not limited to: take a hands-on, proactive approach to using Cognos, Synapsis and other information/reporting tools, retail/branch/deposit/transactions, marketing/new product/campaigns, loans, operations, etc., actively participates at various committee meetings, develops standardized best practice reporting and enhanced automation for standard requested reports, and researches and resolves inquiries/queries for all functional areas as assigned/requested.
  • Processes pre-paid and fixed asset transactions monthly using sub-ledger modules.
  • Prepares monthly assigned reconciliations, investigates and resolves variances.
  • Processes and verifies incoming/outgoing wires transfers.
  • Maintains up-to-date documented procedures.
  • Serves as back-up for Call Report production and Staff Accountants.

    Position specific requirements:

  • High School diploma required; Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Economics or Finance preferred.
  • Minimum three years' bank finance/accounting or related experience required.
  • Proficient knowledge of and experience using financial and economic concepts, modeling and analysis required.
  • Ability to accurately utilize, calculate and analyze complex mathematical equations, formulas, principles, etc. required.
  • Aptitude to effectively learn bank-specific accounting, information and operations systems required.


Mortgage Underwriter

Summary: Underwrites mortgage, home equity and consumer loans. Oversees the production of documentation for such loans and works with Loan Originators, processing and closing staff to ensure the efficient delivery of a consistent, positive, customer experience.

  • Underwrites mortgage, home equity and consumer loans in conformance with investor requirements. Ensures loans meet or exceed investor guidelines.
  • Prepares loan documents, completes income analysis including complex tax returns, cash-flow statements, etc. Underwrites W-2 employees, self-employed applicants, and corporate tax returns.
  • Maintains a proficient working knowledge of all investor guidelines and requirements, including but not limited to: mortgage insurance, FNMA, FHLB, credit, secondary market overlays, etc.
  • Communicates with all Bank staff members, including Loan Officers, processing and closing staff, loan servicing representatives, Quality Assurance representatives, as well as vendors including closing attorneys, real estate brokers, appraisers, customers, etc.
  • Maintains and utilizes a proficient working knowledge of the Bank’s LOS to process, underwrite and close mortgage and consumer loans.
  • Processes and prepares denials, withdrawn and non-accepted loans in conformance with HMDA requirements. Prepares denial letters in conformance with applicable laws.
  • Recommends alternative product/program offerings and assists Loan Officers’ understanding of said programs.
  • Processes and prepares pre-qualification and pre-approval requests for potential homebuyers.
  • Works closely with customers with respect to underwriting questions/issues.
  • Provides back-up for loan sales/pricing, closing functions, and post-closing functions.

    Position specific requirements:

  • High School diploma required.
  • Minimum three years’ loan documentation and FNMA/Secondary Market requirements experience required.
  • Ability to accurately analyze and calculate income for self-employed borrowers, as well as standard W-2 employees required.
  • NMLS registration required.
  • Understanding of loan origination software and interface systems required.


Real Estate Evaluation Analyst

Summary: Orders, researches and examines all commercial and residential evaluations from pre-designated contract evaluation vendors. Reviews all commercial and residential evaluations for regulatory compliance and reasonableness of value conclusion. Analyzes various sources of information to assist in the determination of the risk of select commercial credit offerings. Performs various administrative duties related to commercial portfolio management. Clearly communicates with the Bank's internal and external customers.

  • Resolves evaluation deficiencies and/or value issues between account officer and evaluation vendor.
  • Serves as liaison between the evaluation vendor and the loan officers to facilitate the flow of required property information and assure independence of the process.
  • Facilitates loan process as it relates to appraisals and evaluations, utilizing Bank policy/procedures and ensures compliance with regulations from state and federal agencies.
  • Performs reviews of evaluation products and appraisal products, as assigned utilizing the appropriate methodology and documentation process.
  • Prepares select commercial loan proposals and existing loan relationship reviews by analyzing financial data, and analyzing company, industry, and real estate data and trends.
  • Requests periodic financial information from borrowers and when/as necessary determines compliance with specific covenants including, but not limited to: debt service coverage, leverage, collateral, guarantors, etc.
  • Maintains and updates various portfolio administration reports for various Bank committees, auditors, and management.
  • Provides support to the Lending division in all phases of loan portfolio maintenance and management.
  • Participates in the Loan Quality Committee function as a non-voting member.
  • Participates in credit work process/technology/reporting related special projects, as needed.

    Position specific requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Minimum three years’ general commercial or residential valuation experience required.
  • Working knowledge of Interagency Appraisal and Evaluation Guidelines required.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and analytical decision making skills required.


CD/IRA Coordinator

Summary: Performs a variety of clerical duties in support of the department functions, primarily CD/IRA verifications.

  • Reviews CD/IRA customer renewal/maturity instructions, distributions and other documents for accuracy by comparing it to the core processor reports. Also completes CD/IRA research request from branches and customers.
  • Prepares the weekly rate sheets and notifies Bank employees of the changes.
  • Process incoming/outgoing wires and transactions for the department.
  • Creates Cognos reports and mail merges as needed.
  • Prepares and sends IOLTA Remittance to the Mass IOLTA account quarterly.
  • Process tax levies.
  • Creates new Statement Savings Tenant accounts in the system with the instructions from the branches.
  • Performs Landlord/Tenant End of Year (EOY) interest checks production; sends annual interest checks to tenants.
  • Processes annual IRA maintenance fees, sends out annual Back-up Withholding notices and monthly/annual distribution reminder notices.
  • Prepares accounts to be escheated by October 31st of each year.
  • Performs backup for Customer Care representative and CIF customer change of addresses from branches and customers as needed.

    Position specific requirements:

  • High School diploma required.
  • Minimum one year retail banking experience required.

Sales & Service Associate (full-time)

Summary:  Supports branch sales and operations by proactively assisting customers with service requests and performing cash and non-cash transactions on customer accounts. Identifies customer needs and provides solutions and referrals for products and services as appropriate. Participates in team efforts to achieve branch goals including core deposits and loan referrals.

  • Provides internal and external customer service as needed, including but not limited to: greets customers, handles cash and non-cash customer account transactions and servicing functions, responds to product/service/customer/account inquiries, resolves/escalates customer issues as necessary/appropriate, educates customers on how to conduct simple transactions through self-service technologies, etc.
  • Identifies customers’ needs as it relates to the appropriate selection of retail/commercial deposit products and services; opens accounts and assists customers in proper completion of account paperwork and transactions; reviews documents/data entry for accuracy and completeness.
  • Cross sells products and services and makes appropriate referrals to other staff members and departments.
  • Actively participates in branch promotions, generates qualified loan referrals and contributes towards branch product and service origination goals.
  • Maintains working knowledge of all product, services and regulatory requirements.
  • Manages personal cash drawer, including daily drawer balancing, check balancing, and drawer limits as needed; assists with branch opening and closing.
  • Functions in the capacity of Teller/Sales & Service Associate in any branch location as requested/required.
  • Organizes and maintains work station in a neat manner, in accordance with Bank standards.

    Position specific requirements:

  • Minimum two years’ high school completed or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one year customer service experience required; cash handling a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Full proficiency in performing Teller/Sales & Service Associate functions at all branch locations required.


Floating Sales & Service Supervisor (full-time)

Summary:  Sales & Service Associate plus: Supervises all activities related to the daily operation of the teller, vault, and customer service areas to ensure the ongoing, effective performance of the branch. Identifies inefficient branch processes and makes recommendations for improvements. Provides assistance with the development and implementation of related branch procedures. Participates in team efforts to achieve branch goals including core deposits and loan referrals.

  • Participates in the interviewing, hiring, orienting, coaching, training, and evaluation of staff. Makes recommendations for the continuing development of staff to ensure effective succession planning.
  • Proactively and cooperatively floats to and works at various branches on various days at various times as requested/required based on staffing needs. Operates without a designated “home branch”.
  • Supervises and/or participates in opening and closing of branch and branch security.
  • Administers the branch cash vault and ATM as needed.
  • Approves transactions within approved limits including, but not limited to: check cashing, deposits, withdrawals, fee waivers, etc.
  • Assists with schedule and branch staff assignments to ensure sufficient coverage and proper performance of the branch.
  • Provides internal and external customer support as needed, including but not limited to: greets customers, handles cash and non-cash customer account transactions and servicing functions, responds to product/service/account inquiries, assists with research requests, resolves/escalates customer issues as necessary/appropriate, educates customers on how to conduct simple transactions through self-service technologies, etc.
  • Initiates product and service referrals to appropriate department or individual for follow-up.
  • Participates in activities for generating new business such as promoting branch sales culture and special promotional events.
  • Maintains working knowledge of the Bank’s products and services, branch operations and related I.T. systems, in addition to regulatory requirements.
  • Supervises and assists branch staff regarding the interpretation and implementation of Bank policies and procedures.
  • Provides timely assistance with required audits, reports, schedules, etc.
  • Functions in the capacity of Teller/Sr. Teller/Sales & Service Associate/Supervisor at any branch location as requested/required, including but not limited to: managing personal cash drawer and opening accounts.
  • Organizes and maintains work station in a neat manner, in accordance with Bank standards.

    Position specific requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years’ customer service, cash handling, supervisory, and sales experience required.
  • Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Full proficiency in performing Teller/Sales & Service Associate functions at all branch locations required.


Loan Servicing Representative I (full-time)

Summary:  Provides support to the Loan Servicing department including payment processing, insurance monitoring, and escrow insurance disbursements.

  • Processes all loan payments, including payoffs, monitors payment rejects, processes loan advances, remits payment to SBA and works on loan exception items.
  • Monitors insurance on all loans for cancellations/reinstatements. Places loans with cancelled insurance on forced placed coverage. Processes payments from escrow accounts for insurance payments.
  • Sorts and distributes daily mail.
  • Communicates payoff information as requested and issues refunds of payoff when necessary.
  • Creates and maintains all automatic transfers for loans.
  • Handles the monthly PMI bills and disbursements from escrow accounts.
  • Provides credit references.
  • Conducts research as needed.
  • Responds to call center requests related to loans.
  • Functions as primary back-up to Loan Servicing Rep II as needed.

    Position specific requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year loan servicing and/or office experience required.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational and customer service skills required.
